"Honeybees" is a study of bees that visited the lavender in the garden, one hot summer.  It comprises two pieces - a larger painting in A3 size (left) depicting multiple bees, and a smaller 10 x 10cm miniature (below) depicting a single bee. Both have a fairly plain geometric style backdrop, reminiscent of honeycomb.  This effect was achieved by sponge painting the background.  The bees were painted by brush.
